Here is the powerpoint on charts and graphs we watched in class. The graphs can tell us something about society. Which piece of information caught your attention? Why? What does this say about our nation, or the world? What other questions do you want to know about this issue? What would you recommend if you were a leader? What should change, if anything? Leave your first name, last initial only only and your period. Due Tuesday, February 19.

I think that all those Facebook users don't have anything to do at all so they just set on there computer. Also i really found it interesting though so if i had to make a question that really cant be solved I would use why do these people have a Facebook and how long are they on a single day. What way can the charts be misleading what if all those people that had a Facebook doesn't have one anymore what if they deleted there Facebook. And the last question why did it surprised me is because of how much people actually how much people have one.

I think its crazy that in Norway, each person throws away 1,830 lbs of waste per year!! That's a lot of garbage!! I bet a lot of that is recycling!! I think it would be better if we didn't throw away the stuff that needs to be recycled, the world would be a much better place and the number (1,830) would go down!!

i think it was interesting that we have the most criminals out of all the countries. I think this shows that we are either very trigger happy about throwing people in jail or we are do lots and lots of crimes. I think we should try to enfource into kids that if you obey the laws of our country you get to be happier. I also think that if the older generation doesn't do it it teaches the younger generation that that's not "cool". Either that or the police need to stop arresting so many people.

The slide about billionaires interested me the most. Who would have thought that there are more billionaires in the US than all the others on the chart combined. When you think about it though, it makes sense, because there are so many people from other countries in the US. Some of the people are very smart and have a good idea. Some of them become entrepreneurs and become billionaires a few years later. So the US, in a way of thinking, stole the billionaires from other countries. The first thing I would ask would be if the billionaires spend ridiculous amounts of money on stuff. If I were a leader, I would try to make the billion dollar companies grow in several different countries to help all economies. If I could change something, it would be to keep billionaires from spending ridiculous amounts of money on thing they don't need like the $1,000 pair of shoes in the store.

The “Bon Voyage” caught my eye. Why is because of the elevation connecting and you see the difference easier. On “Bon Voyage”, it says that the United States is the second most popular tourist destination. Why France is the most popular Country. I would recommend more people to come to the United States. Nothing should change, besides the U.S. becoming the #1 most popular.

Some questions unanswered on the charts and graphs are why and or how are there so meny more billionaires in the U.S.Charts and graphs can be mis leading becas of dates because in the1900's the amont of billionaires can be different. The dada page on billionaires surprised me the most because i didn't know that there was so meny billionaires in the U.S.

The Facebook user slide caught my eyes the most because, 138.7 million users in just the United states! And what is says about our nation is that we'r just a Bunche of people with no life but really Facebook... i mean there doesn't need to be that many people who needs to be on it... I wanna know why people want Facebook so much its not that interesting... If i was a leader i wouldn't get rid of it but i'd ask my nation why there was so many people using it... is our nations people getting lonely...? are they forgetting about how life works...? so i hope that people can soon realize that there is a life behind Facebook and people should be spending more time with there friends and family not just sit on the computer playing on Facebook that's one of the reasons why we have obesity because people AREN'T ACTIVE!!!

The graph that caught y eye the most is the "pass the popcorn" graph, because I love to watch movies!! To me this says that people love o watch movies and they can't get enough of watching movies. I want to know what kind of movies India makes? I don't think I would want to be a leader for a movie production because I want to sit back in the audience and enjoy! I don't think any things need to change They are making movies that are awesome and amazing!

I was suprised that the US has the most prisoners in the world. I guess that means we have a safer environment, but it also means that we have the most criminals. I wonder if that's because we have people from all over the world living here, or if they just do it because they want to.

I think the so many friends slide made me ask questions more because I don’t have a Facebook. What is so important about Facebook that everybody has to have one? And why do you have to friend people you don’t even know? If it was me I would be smart enough just to friend the people I know. And how many people have time to friend so many people on Facebook anyway!!! I would find my answers to my questions by asking people myself. The chart can be misleading by having people deleting and creating Facebook’s every day. The data that surprises me the most is that out of all the countries, India is the biggest population out of all of them and it is the lowest people that have a Facebook. The information that caught my attention was that United States and India are the countries out of all of them that have the largest population. It tells us that are nation and world that there are a lot of people online using Facebook twenty- four seven. Why don’t parents watch their kids while there on Facebook? I would recommend that parents watch their kids on Facebook? If anything could change I would change people being able to friend anybody in the world. Maybe that is why people are getting kid napped and other disgusting thing in the world.

Which piece of information caught your attention...The slide about facebook and how many users . Why...because over 138.7 million users in the U.S use facebook and the U.S has the most users out of 10 countries. What does this say about our nation, or the world...it says that many people in the U.S have more users on facebook and that means we most likely use the internet more than 10 countries. What other questions do you want to know about this issue... I want to know how long each of those users are on facebook each day and how much time they spend on facebook.

It suprised me that Christianity was the most common religion. I was wondering how that can be right when there so many people who despise it. Some charts or graphs can be misleading because it can gather wrong information. For example some people lie because they don't want to let other people know that they support that topic.

The facebook one caught my attention. I think it would be helpfull in saying how many of the profiles are in use. They could do this by putting the number of profiles thats have been used in the last year. This particular chart can be misleading because of the absence of this. I am not impressed or suprised by this, but I think it is slightly disapointing the we (the U.S.)have more than one-hundred million more facebook users more than the U.K., the next runner-up.

The one chart that really caught my eye was the one behind bars because the chart said per 100,000. Since the United States was number one on the list it really reflects bad on our country. If recommend something to our country, it would be to have less bars to prevent drunk drivers.

I think the fact that we have the most criminals is really interesting. I think that it's the most interesting because there are hundreds of countries and we have the most criminals out of all of them. This says that we as a nation need to work on what we're supposed to do or that the U.S.A is having fun throwing people in jail. Personaly I want to know why all these people are in jail. I think we should just pass another law, just like we always do. Then maybe we wouldn't be the top country on that chart.

One of the most Interesting things I though was That the U.S has the most prisoners. It make it kinda sad because you don't want that as a country to have everyone else know that you the U.S have the most prisoners in thw world. One of my questions is Why isn't U.K one of the most visted places in the world.. Because They have the queen, they have Big Ben Now known as Queen Elizebeth, And they have the london eye!! If I was leader I would try to have peace with these places like North Karea and others like Russia isn't very nice to us but it's not like we are going to go over there and bomb them. World peace is a big thing we could ALL work on.

I think the slide that suprised me the most was probabaly the one about the number of facebook users or the one about how many prisoners each country has. To me, it is amazing how many people are on the web just doing nothing that really matters. Get out and do something productive! Unless your job is on the computer. THe one about the prisoners suprised me because it is crazy to me how many bad people are out this world, and that we are paying for them.

The slide that surprised me the most was the one about the U.S having the most people in prison.Monst people think that is funny, but it really isn't. Being the country with the most prisoners is a bad thing. We should not be proud. Having the most prisoners means we are not a friendly country or we have lots of bad people. To sum it up it means we are not the best. The question is why do we have so many prisoners if everyone says America is such a perfect place?

I picked facebook because something got my attetion on it. Facebook was discovered in 2004 and there is already 5 million people active on facebook. More people in the U.S.A use facebook than any other contury. If i was the leader of facebook i would make facebook safer than it is today. Today facebook is used for fake facebook or anything and i think it should change.I think the reason why fcebook became so popular si because they have nothing eles better to do. Also you can talk to friends take pictures and update your status. Its like texting but 10 times better for people. That why i choose facebook because it shows how many people changed in this world and how the internet is changing everyone.

behind bars coaught my attention beacuse of how many law breakers in the u.s.a. It tell that our nation is a bunch of people who defie rules and that means our country is just a big jail house. And im just wondering why so many people would break the law i would understand if it was for family but for greed. WHY! If i was a leader i would proably let people out in shorter time periods depending what they do and have them watched to make sure that they dont break another law or the same law. a thing that would change would be for the better is proabbly home arrest so they're in the comfort of their homs instead of at a not clean prison or jail and they would be more easy to watch and more jobs for people who dont have them.

Hi my name is Gracie Mann and I am from Hedrick Middle school in Medford. The one picture I found the most interesting was the one of who I think is Ms.Mac ( one of my 7th grade teachers)golfing in front of the Giza pyramids! The reason I like that particular one the most is because I myself have ALWAYS wanted to see the Giza pyramids. Ok so there was this girl who went up to the lunch lady and waited for the food to be put on her tray so the lunch lady plops some lasagna on her tray the girl looks at it then back at the lady and says "Why is this lasagna green?" the lunch lady replies back by saying "Hu? that's strange it wasn't green when I made it 3 WEEKS ago"

Is this Alexander's tomb?!It now appears likely that Ptolemy adapted a vacant tomb that had been prepared by and for the last native Pharaoh of Egypt, Nectanebo II. However, this Pharaoh had fled south to Ethiopia, when Egypt had been invaded by the Persians in 343BC, so he never had the opportunity to occupy his tomb. The site of the prospective tomb was a chapel within the temple complex of the Serapeum in the cemetery area of ancient Memphis at Saqqara. It lay at the end of a mile-long avenue of sphinxes. The Serapeum complex was rediscovered by Auguste Mariette in 1850-1851 by excavating the sands away from the sphinxes one by one. Guarding the entrance to the chapel of Nectanebo II, Mariette discovered an incongruous semicircle of life-size Greek statues of poets and philosophers, which appear to date to the time of Ptolemy. Some of them can be identified, including Pindar, whose house and descendants Alexander had saved at Thebes, Homer, who was Alexander's favourite poet, and Plato, who had been the mentor of Alexander's tutor, Aristotle. Could these statues have been erected to honour Alexander's tomb?
